May 9 Cases: Imran Khan Refused To Cooperate With Police

Imran Khan refused to cooperate with the Lahore police in the May 9 cases.

The founder of the PTI, Imran Khan, has refused to cooperate with the police over 12 cases registered in Lahore regarding 9 May. An investigating team of Lahore police reached Adiala Jail Rawalpindi on Monday to interrogate him in the aforementioned cases, to which Imran Khan did not appear before the team.

Imran Khan was insistent that he would only be questioned in the presence of his lawyers, despite a number of messages sent to him.

The probe team had plans to conduct a polygraph test on Imran Khan. But the investigation team left the Adiala Jail and went back to Lahore without any interrogation.

It may be added that Imran Khan had already been on ten-day physical remand in the 12 cases registered at Lahore on May 9. The remand was sanctioned by the Anti-Terrorism Court in Lahore.

Earlier, The Islamabad police arrested Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar and spokesperson Rauf Hasan.

According to local media, the CDA, along with the police, conducted an operation against illegal encroachments in Sector G-8. PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar and spokesperson Rauf Hasan were arrested during this operation.

Police are on record having stated that the digital media cell of PTI had been used as a hub for international disinformation and propaganda against Pakistan. Propagation of anti-Pakistan and anti-national integrity propaganda was said to have been the norm from the said digital media cell.

Those who were directly involved in the anti-Pakistan propaganda were also arrested, the police said. Rauf Hasan had been supervising the PTI digital media cell, which was supervising all the evidence seized, and based on that evidence, he was also arrested.

The PTI had already claimed the arrest of both Rauf Hasan and Barrister Gohar.

Meanwhile the PTI had said in a statement that the police had also taken away computers and other related equipment from their secretariat.
