United States Condemns Attack Near Karachi Airport
The United States has condemned the attack near Karachi Airport that killed three people, including two Chinese nationals.
While addressing a news briefing in Washington, State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller said, “The United States condemns the deadly attack near Karachi Airport. We are deeply saddened by the loss of life and the injuries sustained by the victims.”
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to those affected,” Miller added.
The State Department spokesperson also commented on the protests by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for the release of the party’s founder, Imran Khan, who has been imprisoned for over a year and faces multiple charges.
He urged that United States supports freedom of expression, peaceful assembly, and association in Pakistan.

Matthew Miller said, “We call on protesters to demonstrate peacefully and refrain from violence.”
He also urged that the government ensure respect for Pakistan’s laws and constitution, and work to maintain law and order in the country.
It should be noted that the blast near Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport left over a dozen people injured. Local media reports suggest it was a suicide attack.
The Government of Pakistan has attributed the attack near Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport to the outlawed Majeed Brigade.
