Joe Biden Plans Major Reforms For US Supreme Court
US President Joe Biden has outlined plans to make reforms to the Supreme Court.
US President Joe Biden is set to propose major reforms to the Supreme Court, with his suggestions to be presented in the coming weeks. Biden’s proposals include setting term limits for justices and enforcing mandatory adherence to ethical standards.
U.S. media reports indicate that Biden has completed consultations with constitutional experts and members of Congress regarding these major changes to the Supreme Court. He is also considering a constitutional amendment to eliminate the broader immunity currently enjoyed by presidents and other constitutional officeholders.
Biden stated that he does not want to announce the matter prematurely, but he is expected to declare a major step regarding setting limits on the court. Biden has been in discussions with constitutional experts for the past three months and now needs support on this matter.

The President will need Congressional support to implement most of these proposals.
It is noteworthy that just four days after the first presidential debate, the Supreme Court issued a ruling stating that Donald Trump had immunity concerning official acts. Biden had contacted a constitutional law professor affiliated with Harvard Law School to discuss the ruling. The telephone conversation considered arguments both for and against court reforms.
Subsequently, in his address, President Biden described the court’s decision as an attack on legal principles and a blow to the rule of law.

Earlier, Former US President Donald Trump has got relief as US court dismissed the Classified Documents Case.
The US court dismissed the Classified Documents Case against Donald Trump on the foundation of appointments made by a special prosecutor beyond the limits of the law. Trump was accused of illegally removing with him the classified national defense documents when he left the White House.

It’s important to note that on July 1st, the Supreme Court ruled that Trump is not immune from many important matters regarding his time in office. The latest court ruling, however, is another big legal win for the former president.
