Joe Biden Announces Withdrawal From Presidential Race

U.S. President Joe Biden has announced his withdrawal from the presidential race.

U.S President Joe Biden has announced the decision of his withdrawal from the presidential race on social media. He posted that, since three years and a half ago, the country has come much ahead. The United States currently has the strongest economy in the world. It invested in historic levels in rebuilding the nation; it cut prescription drug costs for seniors and extended affordable health care to a record number of Americans.

He bragged about the provision of essential care to one million veterans exposed to toxic substances, passage of the first gun safety law in 30 years, the first African American woman appointed to the Supreme Court, and the most significant climate legislation in history. He said American leadership has never been in a better place.

Biden thanked the American people, without whose support all this would not have been possible. He said they had overcome a once-in-a-century pandemic and the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. They had saved democracy and reinforced alliances around the world.

Biden has said in his statement that serving as president was the greatest honor of his life. Indeed, though he initially wanted to run for re-election, now he believes he should step down and focus on fulfilling his obligations for the remaining tenure at office; this would be in the best interest of his party and the nation as a whole. He is going to come out with more on the statement to the people this week.

Biden thanked sincerely everybody who extended great efforts to work for his re-election. He further thanked Vice-President Kamala Harris for being a fantastic partner in all their efforts.

At the very end of his message, President Biden reiterated his faith in America, “There is nothing that can’t be done in the United States of America.” He reminded the nation, “We are the United States of America.”
