The federal government has decided to ban Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
In a press conference in Islamabad, Federal Minister for Information Atta Tarar stated that attacks were carried out on national defense on May 9. He claimed that Imran Khan’s family was involved in these incidents, with his three sisters present outside the Corps Commander House. The public was being told that a revolution was about to take place and to immediately reach their designated locations.
Atta Tarar said that the founder of PTI promoted a culture of chaos and violence. Imran Khan harmed Pakistan’s defense institutions. He emphasized that Pakistan and PTI cannot progress together if the country is to develop.

The Information Minister stated that on one hand, PTI was sheltering terrorists claiming they would play a role in national security, while on the other, they attacked GHQ and the Corps Commander House. They undermined the National Action Plan.
Atta Tarar announced that the federal government has made four major decisions. Action will be taken according to the constitution and the law. He questioned the source of PTI’s billions of rupees, stating that these matters will be thoroughly investigated in the coming days.
He explained that the government has the constitutional authority to ban a party involved in anti-state activities. There is sufficient justification to ban PTI, which has unconstitutionally dissolved assemblies and acted against national interests. To move the country forward, it is necessary to ban these disruptive elements.
Atta Tarar confirmed that the government has decided to ban PTI. The case will be presented to the Supreme Court. There is clear evidence to support the ban on PTI. This decision might be approved in the upcoming federal cabinet meeting.
He also revealed that the government plans to initiate Article 6 proceedings against former President Arif Alvi, PTI founder Imran Khan, and former Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri. Following cabinet approval, these references will be sent to the Supreme Court.
Atta Tarar concluded by addressing the perception that certain individuals are untouchable. He asserted that the government’s patience and tolerance have been mistaken for weakness. They have been trained to respect political opponents, citing how Nawaz Sharif returned to the country leaving his wife on her deathbed, while labeling Imran Khan as a fascist ruler. He noted that Shehbaz Sharif had expressed readiness for a charter of the economy during the PTI regime.
