Drug Developed Offering Complete Relief From Diabetes
Diabetes has so far remained a chronic condition, not curable, but now scientists have developed a drug that offers complete relief for this nuisance.
American scientists have made a remarkable breakthrough by developing a drug that could probably offer complete relief from diabetes. Developed a medication that revived the insulin-producing cells, experts from Mount Sinai Hospital System and City of Hope Hospital who might further guarantee them a way out from diabetes.
Research on this began as far back as 2015, while trials of the drug on mice started in 2023.

In the research, a natural compound called “harmin” was combined with the therapy GLP-1 that is used to prevent the progress of type 2 diabetes. Afterwards, human beta cells were transplanted with mice that did not have a defense system and they were suffering from type 1 and 2 diabetes.
It was detected that people treated with this medication escaped from diabetes. In just three months, their bodies had created more than 700 cells which produce insulin.
Scientists claim that this is the first time they have been able to prepare such a drug which can increase the number of human beta cells; this method is expected to be used for the complete treatment of millions of diabetes patients.
Evidently, at present, more than 10% of the world’s adult population suffers from diabetes.
Currently, trials of this new drug on mice have been conducted. Soon, trials on humans will be conducted to test the efficacy and safety.
