Alleged College Assault: Punjab CM Orders Investigation
Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has formed a high-level committee for the investigation of the alleged assault of a student at a private college in Gulberg.
The formation of a committee for the investigation of the alleged assault of a student at a private college in Gulberg was announced by Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz. The committee will investigate the incident and present a report within 48 hours.
According to the official notification, the 6-member committee will be led by the Chief Secretary of Punjab. Other members include the Home Secretary, Advocate General Punjab, Secretary of Higher Education, Secretary of Special Education, and Secretary of Specialized Healthcare and Medical Health.

Authorities stated that the committee can include additional members if needed. It will gather evidence related to the alleged assault, including statements from students, teachers, and the college administration.
The committee will also review the college administration’s immediate response and the police’s handling of the case.
The incident came to light when news broke that a security guard at the private college in Gulberg had allegedly assaulted a female student. Following this, students boycotted classes and began protesting across the city.
